3.91 lsd and trifecta tune anyone?
I'm aware fellow member prichmon has this set up? Anyone else on here?
I did the swap but didn't notice much difference in performance but prichmon stated he was also unhappy with the results until he purchased the trifecta tune and then he got the performance he initially was looking for. So I'm searching out different options before I spend the 600 on the tune. Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk |

Spend 450 on HP Tuners and tune it yourself, a lot better results will be had.

You can use BlueCat's Transmission program, enter your tire size, gear ratios, and how you want the transmission to shift. You can also make the transmission shift a lot harder, tire chirping hard. I can post up how to make the changes you need, it isn't that hard. When you start doing supercharger or E85 tuning, that is when it gets difficult. |

You can also get the car not to pull timing when it downshifts, it will throw you back when the car downshifts. |

Wow that's impressive. I'll definitely be going that route. I appreciate the enlightenment, I wasn't aware tuning could make that much difference.

This is all you have to change on the speedo tab to make 3.91's work for speedometer correction. If you even want to change your tire size you can also correct it too.
This is the Bluecat software: http://www.hptuners.com/forum/showth...Table-Software Also take a look through the HP Tuners forum, there is a lot of helpful knowledge there. Now with the LT1 out, more and more information is being discovered about Direct Injection tuning. |

Can you allow 100% throttle opening below 4K rpms? Does GM tune the manuals a little better, meaning less TQ management, or are they basically the same as the automatics?

Working with people to try to figure out how to get the throttle to open below 4k, a problem the LLT does not have. The ECU tunes are the same, the TM mostly comes from the TCU during shifting. The only real TM on manuals is from Tip-In, flooring the pedal real fast.

Thanks for the link. I been searching thru the forum. Pretty sweet. But the issue with the throttle not opening up fully until 4600 rpms is like rocket science.

GB, a few months ago when I got my 3.91 lsd installed, I paid a guy 175 to correct my speedo and he used the hptuners software, but that's all he did. I think he will chang me 50 if I want anything changed. You think I should have him re-do it for me and pay the 50. Maybe you can send me exactly what to change as far as shift points, and timing.

For that much money he should have fixed the trans also, it takes 2 minutes and doesn't cost any more since the credits are tied to the VIN.
Can't send any tunes but he should be able to correct it. Just is BS he charged that much for something that takes less than 10 keystrokes. |
