ZL1's new garage buddy

My Dad passed away last May and this is his 1968 Buick GS400 that he bought brand new. I came up to Illinois for Christmas and am taking it home to Florida cause Mom won't use it. It's bittersweet, it'll make a great garage buddy for the ZL1... 60's muscle and modern muscle.Attachment 763582

Sorry to hear about your dad. I lost mine in 2010 and it will be 5 years tomorrow. That is a sweet car! You just do not see many of those. Keep it and do not sell it. I bought back a truck my parents had in 2011 and just finished restoring it 2 weeks ago. I spent a ton of money on it and it does not mean anything to anybody but me but I do not care. The memories of them driving it to my house and seeing them coming up the driveway will always be with me now since I have the truck back. I will pass it on to my kids when I am gone. There are pictures of it here in my garage if you want to take a look at it. Your dads car will be just like money in the bank I believe and will only go up in value the longer you keep it and the older it gets. Take care of it!

Man that is sweet. I bet your dad is smiling ear to ear right now. Enjoy the car and cherish your Dads memory. Now how many offers you get on the way home is the real question.

Great post. OP what a nice tie in to your memories of your dad. Cool dad with the GS. It looks pretty clean, is there rust? Hard to tell from the pics.

That's a great looking car! I lost my Dad in 2010 and think of him all the time. Keep the car and keep it in the family if you can.

Merry Christmas

Sorry to hear about your Dad. Awesome car that he left, enjoy and take care of it. Love the Gran Sport Buicks. My brother had a '67 for quite a few years.

That's the car I grew up in, the smells and everything bring back such great memories. Thank you.
