Painting the fuse cover.
I have a River city garnet engine cover, this project compliments the piece and is easy. Lupe's cover and the fuse lid are more than enuf color for the engine bay, no other underhood mods planned.
This is a great way to learn how to paint small items on the car. The vendor is automotivetouchup.com. Their clearcoat is the best that I've used , easy and the most forgiving. Their valves on their cans are also one notch up, they spray wide and even. So here we go. Alcohol,wash the piece. Then 2 coats of rustolem primer,* 10 minutes apart- just dust it...this part is under no stress , so adhesion promotor is not needed, this primer works fine. 2 coats of base color,* again 10 minutes apart- Wait 30 minutes, then three coats of clear 10 min apart, fairly heavy so you can polish it. Will wait 24 hours before polishing...more installed pics tomm....

Yeah that happens sometimes when the paint dries. Good attempt though Glen. It will just give you some thing to do in the near future! lol

That sucks :/
You are right Glen, I just picked up a touch up pen for mine. CODE G7E WA 132X is what the code is. PS: weirdest touch up pen I have ever seen, reminds me of some alien probing device on 1 star alien movie. PSS: Here is the pic;

And you get brush strokes! Where did you pick that up, I have a chip on my front wheel well that I had upon delivery? I really should have the dealer do it.

Any parts dept can order it, it is genuine OEM part. Price wise, I have NO idea. It was a 1 of the things I got for free from the dealership that messed up my paint.

Color corrected thanks to automotivetouchup aerosol paint. The color is a two can basecoat:
Lousy flash iphone pic, but now perfect match for the engine cover |
