Dented the Camaro today

Wow, do I feel stupid.

I was backing onto the Rino Ramps so I could finish my MRT V2 install and just barely tapped the gas too much. That sent the driver side ramp shooting under the car and it ended up under the driver door (high centered) with a nice 4 inch wide 1 inch deep dent in the body rail under the door.

This picture doesn't show it very well, but it's basically like trying to jack up your car on the body. The black mark is from the plastic ramp where the car landed on it, the dent is just to the left of that. I might be able to pop some of it out if I can get to it by removing some of the interior door trim.

Yes, I know the car is filthy.

Anyway, guess you have to be VERY careful with those plastic ramps!

Ouch! That sucks! I'd use this opportunity to upgrade my rocker panels

oh and if that's just in the plastic, I saw a video recently where a kid heated up the panel and then doused it in ice water and it sprung back to normal....or something like that.

Don't feel bad. That is easy to do with ramps. I drove an old Chrysler off of a set of ramps one time and crushed the wide rocker trim and both fenders. I have never used them since.

Thanks motorhead. Nice sprint car!

Problem solved: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/pu...11/submodel/lt

Could have been a LOT worse. Are the ramps good for oil changes at least?

Of course they are. I used the same ramps to install my headers! They are a little tricky if the surface isn't that great.
