A/C ISSUE!!

Hello Everyone,

First I would to say I am excited to be newbie to this forum! However, I am a little upset that my car was delivered to the dealership today with an A/C issue. Once I arrived the GM apologized that there is an issue with the A/C not blowing cold air discovered during a test drive.

Nevertheless, the dealership has ordered a new compressor so the car sits in the shop awaiting the new compressor. Has anyone heard or experienced this A/C issue?

Thanks

I have and you should be glad they found it prior to you taking it off the lot. My car had the same problem and the first time they changed the evaporator ( which took 2 weeks to get). Then the problem was still there. So I took it to the dealer again and they basically told me i was nuts and it works within specs. So i take it home and it is still not working right so I was tired of dealing with this dealer so i took it to another one. They say i am not crazy there is a problem. They call TAC and they tell them to change the evaporator agian but that did not fix it. It had to go to the engineers to try and find the problem. They said that mabe the filter in the drier fell and is clogging the air flow. So they replace the drier and the compressor and two weeks later it is now working..... so far. Take note i got my car in june and it just got fixed last week. In and out of the shop for 2 whole months. but i wish you all the luck with your a/c issue. I just hope you don't have the same problems that i did and they get it right the first time.

Thanks for the feedback!

However, I am still a little worried about purchasing this car. I've been reading a lot of issues with the Camaro on this forum and it seems that everyones thought is "well it's the first year built". But I am still driving my 2006 Dodge Charger with 40k miles and never had a problem (knock on wood) and that was the first year it was introduced.

Oh well I guess I will try it out for 60days right!!

Hopefully they will call me today and have some good news!
