AMA V6 enthusiasts!

Hello fellow V6 Camaro enthusiasts! My name is Nestor, I own a 2013 Camaro 1LS (ZL6 phantom car) equipped with the LFX V6 and the Aisin AY6 6-speed manual transmission!
In the summer of 2015 I experienced catastrophic engine and transmission failures!
Having been denied warranty coverage (due to removing the speed limiter) I was left with two options:
1) Pay a shop thousands to repair my car.
2) Repair the car myself.

I decided to pick up a wrench and repair the car myself, being no expert mechanic I spent many hours with the GM repair manual and asked my experienced mechanic friends many many questions! I was able to successfully rebuild both the transmission and engine, and have now learned a great deal about the GM High-Feature V6!

I also have experience with suspension, brake, engine, and cosmetic modifications!

I'm wanted to help you guys with any questions you might have - ask me anything!

Just so the 'lesser informed ' people know and/or didn't read the last 3 words of the first post: AMA means "Ask Me Anything" and is derived from that horrible website 'Reddit'.

Good for you OP, not many people would choose that path to do the work yourself. I bet you learn a lot!

OK first question , what is a ZL6 phantom car. Sounds made up to me . I own a 2012 1LS with a M6 by the way.

A phantom car is a car built to look like a factory model but is actually a fabrication.
You can see pictures of the ZL6 in my profile.

It would appear it's some kind of "tribute" car. So yes, made up.

Did you finish your turbo project?

A tribute car and a phantom car are very different, but that's besides the point of this post.

I've decided to go in a different direction, I'm entertaining the idea of building a motor for the car. I do understand everything that this entails, and yes I've entertained trading the car but do not wish to do this. Yes I know I will have to create my own wiring harness and yes I have the resources to do this.

Gretch I read over your build thread and I thought it was awesome! I love what you did with your LFX car, but I personally just have a different goal in mind!

On the V-6 do they have little stubby steel tubing cast in the exhaust ports so you can not run any aftermarket headers?

When you rebuilt your engine did you just rebuild it to factory spec or mod it?

What engine mods did you do?
