Re-attaching the shifter boot

I had some warranty work done to my 2015 SS and I've noticed the shifter boot (chrome ring) won't attach back to the knob. I've tried the zip tie trick but I think they changed the way the boot attaches to the knob in the newer years. I think there's a clasp or something missing. If the dealer orders me a new boot, will it have what I'm missing?

Thanks in advance!

Did they remove the boot? If they did remove it and didn't know what they were doing they probably broke off the small tabs that hold the boot and chrome ring to the shift knob and that's why the chrome ring won't attach to the knob. I'd take it back to the dealership and have them fix it especially if it the tabs are broken.

As mentioned above, there's a black ring with tabs in it that is underneath the shift boot. This clips into the chrome ring and sandwiches the shift boot

Ahh now I see. I'm away from the house on business. I'll have the wife check out the boot and see if those tabs are broken. Thanks all! You all helped a lot.
