Whipple coolant tank bracket
I bought a used Whipple 2.9 and I'm in the process of installing it onto a 2012 L99. When I try to mount the bracket for the degass / intercooler reservoir, it does not line up. This it the bracket that you're supposed to put on the passenger's side radiator and fan shroud mounts. When I bolt it on the the radiator mount it's like a half inch from touching the fan shroud area.
Attached are pictures to help clarify. |

It does look like the right bracket...you could make a 3/4" spacer to fill the void and a 3/4" longer bolt to go with the spacer

thanks, it is the correct bracket. I helped take it all off a 2010 L99 car, and as far as I can tell the part numbers for the kits and the new instruction manual all appear to be the same.
If anyone here has a Whipple I'd be curious if there is supposed to be a spacer in there? In the instructions it appears as if it fits flush at both locations. If there isn't one on other installations I'd be real curious what's making my setup like this. |

I have a 2012, with an LS3, and mine mounted flush, no need for a spacer. I can send you a picture once I get out of work, in a couple of hours.

Thanks. The concern I have now is that radiator sticker. If that's the part number (22886753), I can't find that as a GM part number, and for a 2012 it looks like the GM part is 22786865 or 22762595 so I don't know if it got replaced with an incorrect more narrow one at some point.

It mounted nearly perfectly flush on my car with maybe like an 1/8 inch from being perfect, enough to just tighten bolt, maybe a spacer like others recomended but it is the right braket.

coolant reservoir bracket
Mine fit flush. You might check that P/N against the V6 radiator P/N.

Looks like the V6 and V8 PN are the same. On that sticker in your picture, right above the word Denso can you see what number is on yours? I want to see if it matches mine.

Mystery solved. If you notice the Batmanntexas bracket looks slightly different than mine. Here is the response from Whipple:
The 10-12.5 used this style bracket. The 12.5-15 use a different bracket because of design changes to the car from GM. The new bracket is $30 plus freight. Thank you everyone for your assistance. |
