removing rear sit and covering the hole

don't worry, it's not one of those countless "how to remove back seat" threads, that I managed to do (it's surprisingly easy, btw). but I was wondering if you guys cover the hole to the trunk and how (if yes).

noise is great, btw, why upgrade exhaust if you can just remove back seats

I don't have a 1LE so I feel like I am intruding but, I just lay my back seat down so that I can hear my car. Agreed, no sense in paying $$$ for an exhaust you can't hear!

Hey this is a great thread. I removed the rear seat a while back for a track day and the opening into the trunk caused some really stranged buffeting in the car at high speeds with the windows down. I put the back seat in to prevent that. I see that there are some kits out there specifically for this, but they are a bit pricey. Just like the OP said, I'm wondering if anyone covered this on their own with something cheaper that still looks good.

Put my seat down yesterday to see the NPP was easier to hear and it really was. I went from a set up with HF cats, X pipe, and flow master outlaw catback on my other SS to stock NPP with the fuse pulled on my 1LE, I am missing the sound!

Sorry for the bad photo but what we did was get a 1/2" sheet of pvc board from a sign shop. Had it hydro dipped in carbon fiber. Have about $100 all in. Works nice and looks killer.

Hey JKSynergy, that looks really good. How is it adhered to the car?

It's held in place under the upper and side trim. Two small pieces of Velcro at the top keep it secured so it doesn't slide down under the lower seat cushion.

I experienced the same thing...awful buffeting at speed on track with the rear seat out.

Not to hijack the thread but why do you guys track with the windows down? Seems the amount of wind getting into the car at speed would severely effect aerodynamics. Reduced acceleration/ top speed, downforce?

Safety requirement. Twofold, easier for the corner workers to get to the driver & keeps glass out of the car in a wreck.

It was so bad, I didn't know if I was going to be able to continue for the rest of the event. I thought the windshield and back window were going to blow out.

some super thin plywood and 2 eye hook bolts from home depot

and some cheap, recycled carpet from pep boys

measure, cut, glue, bolt and there you have it.

about $25
