ok i have a bw 9 bolt disc brake rear also a 10 bolt drum brake,i have a 26 spline locker posi and 4.10 gears that i had bought for the 10 bolt but since then i got the nine bolt,will my posi and gears fit? are all parts interchangable for both?

sounds like some good gears...but they dont interchange. actually the only thing that is interchangeable is the calipers. I have a 9 bolt in mine and my buddy has had several 10s and 9s. the 10s are 7.5 ring gears and the 9s are 7.75in. there are some other differences that i dont remember off the top of my head but i do know that the 9 bolt is stronger than the 10.

no they are not interchangeable, found out that way.

Most people would say the 9 bolt is a better rearend, but trying to find parts for it is almost impossible, Believe me I know i have tried. If I can find a 10 bolt with disc brakes I would swap mine out.
