Slow times, but still fast.
Hot, 80 degrees and humid. Tough time launching with the new CAI, and the car just wanted to melt the tires. I need DR'S now. We ran 12.3 at 113 in the heat with a 2.0 60'. Stock tires set to 20psi that got me a 1.8 and 1.7 60' without the CAI.
I can tell you that it is nice to be one of the fastest street cars for once in my life. And new 5.0 Mustangs are NOT competition to us. They ran 13.1-12.9 at 108 with a little exhaust work. Fifth gens with headers were mid 13s at 108. Stock fifth gens were high 13s. A SRT8 Charger was mid 13s. Stock Hemi Challenger mid 14s. C6 with full exhaust and Vararam was high 12s.

Forgot to add I met a guy with the old style SRT8 Charger. Big cam, full exhaust, Dr's, 373s, 3200 stall, intake and tune and he was 12.5 at 108. We went head to head in an awesome race. He hole shot me and then on the big end, our SS walked by him hard! He was very impressed and stated that the SS was extremely fast.

So the new CAI is providing that much low end torque that its killing that launch. Man I wish I could go to the strip tomorrow, but with 50 mph wind gusts I think I'll wait a couple weeks. I was going to switch out the CAI tomorrow after a couple passes.

Very nice...it is fun to win without much struggle and the Camaro does just that.
I've only had a single chance to run mine and I came up with a 12.3@ 112.8 or so but I think I can do much better than that and I'm going to try tomorrow. I've installed my CAI so I'm going to check it out to see if there's any improvement. EDIT: Ran my personal best of 12.08 at 113.8 with a 1.777 60 foot time. Beat a Stingray, ZL1 and an SRT8 easily. Someone else said it..."these things fly!".

In Florida, you really can't expect great times most of the year. Hot summer days and nights would add almost a half a second to our 2015 SS. Really am pleased with what she did last night but just wished I had DR'S. Next time for sure.

I know this is not the story everywhere but at Atco there are two 2015 5.0 autos that ran high 11s with just DRs, a CAI, and a canned tune. I doubt though they could do it in Florida air. Both are bored with 11s now and are adding more mods going for 10s.
Also here at Atco there is a CA6 auto 8 SS with DRs and a CAI struggling to get under 12 seconds but very close. I will agree the new Camaro is the faster car. But the driver can still make a difference, even more so with manuals. With 500 miles I still am chicken to run my M6.

I think you are pretty close on the 11.40's. Conditions will have to be just right since one are has run 11.70's with DR's and a couple small mods in good air a couple months ago. I don't his was tuned at all. I'm not sure how much hp can be gained with the tune, GM has done a pretty good job with that. My plans are to run 11.60's with no internal mods but now that its going to be warming up here in Missouri it may not be till fall, but it will happen.

I think we are talking Mustang 5.0's here, not our Camaros.
