Question about 2015 2ls

What's up camaro5? Ive owned a few camaros in the past but today is the first time I've joined a Camaro related forum. My last two cars were 94 and 95 f-body's, my current car is a 2015 2ls Camaro, I've had it since November and I really love it, my older cars were also v6's so when I heard about a 323hp 5th gen i worked my ass off and got one

I was unaware when I bought my car however that some models came with speed limiters '118mph' my question is does my car have one??? this could be a stupid question and if it is I apologize but if I could take the car out and try to exceed that speed on the road I would but I really cannot afford anymore bs on my lisense lol but I have to admit I would feel that much more proud of the car knowing if I ever wanted to, I could hit 130mph.

If the extra info helps, I went into the vehicle settings from the steering colum and found a setting for vehicle speed warning, which is set to 'off '

Any help or info would really be appreciated thank you !

Yes, GM ships them out with 2 speed limiters LS models are at 118 RS and SS models are higher. Based off the speed rating that of the tires that come standard on the vehicle. Even stories of people buying a new LS from a Dealer and opting to add SS tires and dealer still refusing to increase speed limiter.

dont the tune drop your gas mileage... and with a better tune it will drop even more right.. just asking because you said the one of the main reasons for the v6 was the gas mileage

I'd believe the dealer will not change the limiter or turn it off, I'm sure GM won't allow it for responsibility reasons. And by the way most vehicles have had a speed limiter since the late 90's with ECU's. Earlier GM vehicles limiters were set at 108 MPH, had a 2000 Malibu and a buddy tuned it, removing the limiter, but then I did put on a set of wheels and tires better than stock.

NO.....a tune will ensure your vehicle is running an optimum AFR, enhance timimg, change throttle sensitivity, and with an auto can change shift points, and firmness. In theory it would actually help to increase gas mileage as it ensures your motor is running as efficiently as possible. It's the driving habits after the tune that kill people's gas mileage.

They do but wont.....I mean. The "I know a guy" is great and will increase your odds but I doubt it. There is a thread on somewhere where a gentleman bought the LS and opted to have the dealer install factory SS rims and tires at the time of purchase and the dealer still refused to touch the limiter.
