Refinish ZL1 polished wheels

Hello, has anyone had their 20 inch polished wheels on their ZL1 refinished ? Factory finish is very poor especially around the lug nuts

I had my OEM 10 spokes refinished and it is night and day difference. Inner wheel well looks like crap when the rubber is off and you have it under a light. Get them powder coated and done right.

So I bought a set of 5-spoke wheels with the intention of having them fully polished. I took them to someone for an estimate and they said $50 a wheel if I stripped the powder/clear coat off them. I spent 8 back breaking hours bead blasting them and took them back to the same place where the guy proceeded to tell me that they first had to be stripped and then he would do them for $100 a wheel! I asked him why the price doubled and tried to convince him they were raw and had already been stripped. He said that I didn't get the coating off and proceeded to "show" me by buffing a section. It shined right up to his surprise! I then revisited the price where he smarted off that I didn't need to be cheap on wheels I was polishing for a $90,000 car and in the same breath said the price didn't include the holes for the lugs or any of the fine details. I thanked him for his time and loaded up my wheel and left. I don't mind paying for good work, but I want a good job at a fair price. He saw the ZL1 on the wheels and was going to gouge me. I looked into having a "chrome" powder coating done but the guy I talked to said it was more of a grey than chrome. Now I am working on polishing them myself. I am 75% done with my first wheel and will post picks when done. It it much more difficult than I thought.

All these refinished wheels look outstanding with the color and detail. I was looking at these guys Alloy wheel repair for my wheel refinishing when the time comes.

Had mine refinished at Wheel Werks in Salt Lake City, Utah. Did a great job. They even discovered that one was out of round and fix it. Might want to give them a shot. Email address as follows:

I have the 5-spoke silver wheels, I want to get them chromed so they look shiny (Like C6 ZR-1 20-spokes). Is this possible?

Yes, see my earlier post for a link. Someone here on the forum posted pics awhile ago on exactly what you're looking for.

Any idea where those pictures of the 5-spokes in shiny chrome would be? Have yet to see them on a car.
