Cat Delete....
Has anyone removed the cats from there? You know, "for track only" reasons? If so, did any codes pop up? Run into any issues? I was considering buying the delete kit. But not ready for all the dummy O2 sensors, blah blah crap. Any comments, concerns, etc... are welcome...

You will get codes. You either need to tune out the rear sensors or install O2 simulators.

Are talking about the primary cats or the secondary un-monitored cats? For primary cats, you will need some extra stuff for. For secondary un-monitored cats, don't need anything. Before someone says the secondary cats are resonators, they are not. They are cats.
If we are talking about Primary cats, TSloper is correct! |

I ordered mine on Monday. I'll be installing them as soon as they arrive.

so whats the pros/cons for deleting the primary cats only vs deleting the secondary cats only?
can the secondary cats handle not having the primary cat ahead of it? Is one more restrictive then the other? |

The secondary cats have no sensors or monitoring after them ...so removing them won't trigger any engine lights or negatively affect performance. if you remove the primary cats you will have to do some mods to have the car run right...and even then it won't pass any state emissions inspection

Also, removing primary cats = warranty issues as you have to "mess" with the ECU which GM doesn't like and could easily be an issue. Both the secondary and primary cats are very restrictive. If you don't want to deal with warranty issues, you can just get rid of the secondary cats as they are un-monitored and don't have to get a tune. |

So is there a bolt on piece for the secondary cats?
Or are y'all having a muffler shop weld in pipe? |

For primary cats there is a vendor here who make cat delete bolt on pipes. As for the secondary cats you have to get em cut and replaced with straight pipes then welded (NPP is 1 pipe from the primary cats and the secondary cats are on that 1 piece so you gotta cut and weld :/). I am not a huge fan of mine as they are 2.5' and not 2.75' BUT I knew that to begin with and did it as a temporary solution till Borla releases their off road xpipe. Till Borla xpipe happens, I am uber happy with the extra sound under throttle and LOVE the back pressure

Could a person potentially "Gut" the secondary cats, that way they are still on there and not void the warranty?
