I know this topic has been brought forward in the "GENERAL DISCUSSION" area, but I'm looking for a Canadian perspective.
Basically, I'm curious to know, specifically from SS owners, but will accept opinions from LT owners as well. What grade of fuel are you using on a regular basis, and from what oil company (i.e. Sunoco, Shell, etc.) I've been currently using Shell's 91, but was told by some people(mechanics at that) to avoid Shell gas all together, as it causes problems in the cumbustion chambers down the road. I was planning on switching to Sunoco, prior to getting this information, as it was the fuel that I used to use in my '80 Vette. Just looking for constructive feedback, and if you have any specific details, like test and/or lab results between fuels of different companies. I don't want to turn this into a science class ![]() Thanx in advance.

I put 93 from Sunoco in it religiously. Well i cant say religiously yet bc ive only filled it four times in its life. But it will be the onyl gas it sees unless Sunoco goes out for some reason.

Sunono 94. No science to back it up. All I can say is in the snowmobiles I've had that require high-test, they ran like crap and loaded up bad on 91 but run them on 94 and they went like stink and stayed sharp.

I think only Sunoco, sells the highest in the industry, here in Ontario, not sure about the rest of the country.

Thanx for the feed back, and I think I should go with my instincts and switch back to Sunoco.

Always ran Sunoco 94 in all my camaros. The higher the octane, the cleaner the burn.

Don't have a camaro yet but all I have where I live is Shell, Husky, Fast Gas, Esso. I think they only go up to 91 so I will put that in when I get my car next year. I don't have a favorite place to go but I usually use Husky or Shell.

Is there still a lawsuit going between shell and GM? SOmething about shell putting some additives in their fuel that screwed up all the fuel tank sensors and therefore all the gas guages were messed up. My moms van and a friends sunfire had this problem.
I only pump Esso, but for our motorbike, we pump sunoco |
