Tinting windshield - full tint [HUD equipped]

I have a 2011 2LT in which I had my windshield replaced recently and the window visor strip tint went along with the old window. Right now I am debating whether to do a full tint on the front windshield to prevent glare and protect the interior from solar rays etc... Has anyone had experience doing this with an HUD equipped Camaro? Will the HUD still be visible enough or work?

Reason I ask is because I currently have full window tint on my SUV down here in Florida and love it. Just wondering about the Camaro and if its doable or better just to do a strip along the top again?

I believe I currently have the 50% or slightly lower on my SUV. Can't remember. I don't want it dark - but enough to keep out the rays and prevent glare.

Fyi, full windshield tint is illegal in florida. Only allowed to tint above the manufacturers AS1 line at the top of the front windshield. If you get busted with it you will have to show proof that it was removed so its not just a fine. Mine is only tinted at the top and i usually dont need sunglasses to drive.

Ditto. Illegal in Florida. If you do it anyway, I don't see the HUD having a problem since it reflects on the inside of the window. It would probably make it stand out more, like driving at dusk.

I have never had an issue with my full tinted windshield on my SUV down here in South Florida, let alone the 19% tint I have all around on both vehicles. The police cars down here have 5% tint on many of their vehicles and people know that the sun glare let alone the heat in South Florida gets pretty extreme at times. People are driving everywhere with dark tint and I never hear of people getting pulled over for tint related incidents.

Its hilarious that there is always someone to give an "fyi its illegal" answer, to a non legal question. As the great Dr. Evil once said zip, zip, zip it real good.

Most tinting places in south Florida will fill out your form and provide a "receipt" that you had your window tint taken off if you do get a rare tinting ticket. I never had a problem with 5% all around down there, like stated before all the police vehicles have 5%

I have 3M Crystalline 70 on the windshield and no problems with the HUD.

I have 35% full windshield tint with HUD and you can still see it perfectly. You can actually see it way better from what I can tell.

My windshield is tinted (bought that way, I don't know what percent, but it is light. HUD works fine. And I have to assume it helps with preserving the hud due to less heat and blocking uv rays.

Doesn't that make it hard to see at night? And if you got into a wreck, could they use that against you as a causing factor??

Yes i said it. I was passing on the info as maybe some may not know its illegal and this could save someone some money. Everyone can still make a choice to do it ir not.
