PDR option

Hello, after being on this forum for 3 years, this is my first thread. The playbook got me fired up so I had to ask this. Is ANYONE else upset that the PDR is being omitted from being an option on the ZL1 vert? I would be looking forward to the new coupe and all it will have to offer like the eLSD, TMS and now the PDR but my wife's only request is that it be a ragtop. Could there be a legitimate reason? The PDR has lot of uses beyond track. Is anyone else with me on this? Coupe people; your opinions greatly appreciated.

Hey, SSZ4Z, you know you can edit that first post, right? Just click the edit box in the bottom right of the post, fix the typos in there, then you can delete those other 2 posts.

PDR on a vert.....with no PTM modes....

It sucks but the verts are just not meant for the track.

That's what I'm sayin, there's lots of uses beyond the track and maybe ya just want to record a trip to the grocery store and back.

I'm inclined to believe this, perhaps GM would rather you save the money and buy an aftermarket dash cam instead for off track recording.

I'm curious, I wonder how many Z06 owners with PDR's have ever been to the track and isn't the PDR an option on the Z06 convertible?

Correct PDR has been an option on the C7 (Z06 and base) convertible since 2015.

I think I might try to use the PDR to know/monitor how my car is being driven as well. You'd have a recording of exactly how it was driven...

I have it in my ATS-V and honestly, I rarely EVER use it. It is a VERY cool feature, but I will probably opt out on the ZL1. The cost just doesn't justify it to me. For a track dedicated car it would, but let's be honest, most of the driving will be on public roads. Besides, there's not a track worthy of any spirited driving in the Houston area.

There might just be PTM on the vert, the playbook doesn't state "coupes only" for that but then again the playbook has been wrong in the past.

Exactly, very practical tool to some people. I would say more practical than 640hp.

Wrong you are my friend. MSR Houston is off 288 about 30-45 minutes south of Houston. I was there last week. Track is decent (~2.38 miles) but they also just changed owners and plan to expand the track, add condos, pools and possibly a rally track.

Here's some footage from my PDR at MSR Houston last week:

Their rates and prices are out of this world stupid though. If you pay their membership dues and fees I can't believe it. But you are right, it's a decent track. I failed to remember them because mentally I've already forgotten about them due to the joke of what it would cost to drive there.
