Nitrous on minor bolt-ons/dyno tune

I'm toying with the idea of getting a kit for a 100 shot of nitrous. I currently have long tubes with hi flows (will probably gut the cats), 3" cat back, vararam intake, ported throttle body, and dyno tune. I keep reading that on a stock platform, a 100 shot should be fine, but that dyno tunes tend to add in a lot of timing, and nitrous reacts better/more reliably by pulling timing in the tune instead. Is this something I should be conferring with my tuner about, or should I be able to get a kit, bolt it up and be good to go? Just trying to gather more information before I pull the trigger on it

Why don't you go with a turbo or supercharger? I was looking at going the NOS route and its not much cheaper than a turbo setup. After spraying a couple times you have to fill the bottle up again at $60. That is going to get expensive over time.

Yep, after about $2500 for parts to do it right, plus install if you can't do it yourself, and $60 a fill....adds up quick

You can get a timing retard box and will run normal when system is off and soon as you arm it the box will tell your ecm to pull a preset amount of timing that you choose upfront. For a 100 shot, typically 4-5degrees will be pulled.

You can do a 100-150 shot nitrous outlet kit with extra goodies for $1500 or less. Bottle fills vary.. In my area $35-40

Kit with a 15lb bottle I can score just under a grand brand new. Install seems straight forward, just with some wiring, the plate for the throttle body, and then the bottle lines. Nitrous around here, if I'm not mistaken, runs around 3 bucks a pound, so about 45-50 bucks for give or take 10-13 runs (if i'm averaging 100 shots, just an estimate, i read you could get about 10 shots of 100 with a 10lb bottle). Not trying to tilt the scale in my favor, just trying to learn and see if this could be a good idea. That timing retard box sounds like a solid idea should I venture down this road.

He can but that's like buying FI and not, upgrading the injectors. To do it right need more than the basic kit including stand alone, lnc2000, etc. Then Do you want a remote opener or you just going to drive around with it on or off? To get all those runs do you buy a nano or do you buy a second bottle for when pressure drops? Goes on and on and really adds up fast which we both know
