Just curious if a 1LE can be identified by the vin number. Does anyone know for sure?

That is what I had thought. A 1LE is an option code for the SS and wasn't identified by the vin#.

Yes it can. Every Year has a specific Letter corresponding to it. I'm very certain the 14-15's do. S, G, or J in the 5th VIN place designates a 1LE depeding on what year the car is. It does no say "1LE" specifically. In the trunk it does, though, say 1LE and FE6.

"S = 1SS 1LE Manual | T= 2SS 1LE Manual | K= SS Auto No 1LE in Auto Trans (Note: 1LEs may either come with a T or an S in the VIN to designate manual transmission)"
yours is a 1SS 1LE correct? hence the S. ZL1LE registry has all this information Every year is different. but a letter in the VIN identifies it as a 1LE |

SS vin # identification
I am very curious on this subject and would like some feedback from other SS owners. The 5th number in the vin is what I'm interested in. Not sure if it was different for the years, but below is for the '14 model year.
S = 1SS MANUAL T = 2SS MANUAL J = 1SS AUTO K = 2SS AUTO I also have this thread in the 1LE section, so you can get an idea of why I ask this question. Please check it out and add a comment in either thread.
