You are not alone. Have owned a few black vehicles over the years to include my current Camaro and, yes, it is a love-hate thing, especially if you're like me and a little OCD (a lot according to my wife). IMO black is one the best looking colors on muscle and many sports cars, but it is a pain to keep them looking good. I wash & detail mine at least once a week and carry a detail kit in the trunk.

Try living in an apartment in Wisconsin. No garage, it has rained almost every day the past week. Heavy dew every morning. Dusty ass construction going on by my apt. Luckily I have a brand new touchless car wash by me. I feather dust it as much as I can which helps a lot. McGuire's spray wax works great. Go to my brothers house once a month to hand wash. Probably put in at least 10 hours a month cleaning it. The compliments make it worth it. I will always drive a black car, never get tired of the looks. Had red, blue, silver, gray and always got tired of them; never with the black ones, other than tired of keeping them clean.

I have had 8 black cars and still have one, I reckon it's easier to keep my black ute clean compaired to my white Camaro, the white shows every bit of road grime and brake dust.

Kit??? I carry almost ALL my detailing stuff in the trunk (sometimes I take out the PC though)

If I could get away with it, I would wash it everyday ... now that I'm into waterless washes, I might be able to

I used to carry a full compliment of detailing 'stuff' in my cars, but after winning a couple small backpacks at a car, decided to scale down a little & carry only what I feel I really need. I carry the same 'kit' in my Vetted as well.

Black is such an awesome color.. It has two states. Amazing, and dirty. Nothing inbetween.

My last 6 vehicles were/are black. I like the look. I wash my black Camaro every other week and dry it with a leaf blower. Hand wax it twice a year. If its raining I drive my other vehicle that day. So far ok keeping up its appearance with the least amount of effort.

Hell, mine is black, gets washed at least once a week and I live at the end of a 1/4 mile dirt and gravel driveway!

My last vehicle was black, and that's the last I'll ever own in that particular color

You guys are right nothing looks better than a clean black car.
I use Waterless Wash after every drive on my black GTO, that is the fastest safest way that I have found to keep her clean & looking good.
My hat is off to you guys that have black dd's with no garage.
