Discounts affect commission

I had asked the dealer where I bought my Camaro if they honored the credit union discount and they said no.

Also I am understanding that I can get the $500.00 rebate instead of participating in the 60 day buy back.

Do the discounts affect the salesman commission or the dealers profit margin?

If not I would like to ask the dealer to honor the credit union discount.

Mucho gracias!

Bottom line is that it is completly up to them. The way they see it, if you don't like it, they will just hold onto the car for 24 hours, becuase that's how long it will take to resell it to someone else.

Yes, the discount programs affect their commissions. Whenever the selling price is lowered, there goes the dealer profit (and salesperson commissions).

Rebates do not affect anything except lowering the final cost to the consumer.

I am so glad that my dealership doesn't have their sales people working on Commission...I'm getting almost $3000 in discounts!
