Road Race/Autocross Alignment Setup Thread
Didn't want to "muddy the waters" in the alignment help thread - I figure it would just get lost there anyways. Putting this out there to help with others in their setup choices.
![]() Discussion Thread/Feedback on Alignment w/Slicks: Tire: 275/35-18 Toyo RR Square Hot Pressure F/R: 40/38 Springs and Dampers: GMPP Z28 ARB: GMPP Z28 Bushes: GMPP Z28 Race Weight: 4000 (Driver 200) Philosophy of Use: Autocross/HPDE, Limited Street Other Noteworthy Chassis: Stock Rear Subframe Bushes, No Strut Tower Brace, No Cage Camber F/R: -1.5, -1 Toe F/R: 3/16" OUT, 1/16" IN Caster: 6 deg est. Car is neutral, "tossable". Eager to rotate at low speed. Car has a slight amount of push in high speed sweepers (my preference). Only noteable issue is slaloms. Car grips and loads up adequately (in my mind), but getting the car turned the other way takes some more effort; the ratio on the rack for these cars is slower than I'd like. Need to get rid of the compliance in the rear and add more camber/caster for the RR's. Toyo setup sheet says -2.5 to 5 degrees of camber. I'll probably shoot for 2.5/1.4 camber next time out. Feel free to share!

You are planning to run more negative camber than front camber?

Given the recommendation from Toyo, will eventually ratchet it up further while keeping an eye on my tire temps. Not sure how well the Z28 kit is going to jive with the aggressive alignment. Could be doing some of this soon depending on when the SAI plates/caster locks come in I've already got larger eccentrics for the rear.

Use half of the front camber in the rear as your split. You can add more toe out up front.
You may want to play with the bars. Smaller up front or bigger rear. |

Thanks for the feedback. I'll start there.

I've been running: (street tires though)
-2° front camber -1° rear camber 6.5° caster is all I can get with caster adjusters 0 toe front and 1/16 toe in on rear 335 Rival S's on 18x12's It works very well with my current setup. But front end push is always the most noticeable issue I have at higher speed stuff. Looking at getting some camber plates and moving to around 3° in the front and 1.5° rear. |

What are the sway bar diameters? Do you mind telling us the weight wet ready to run? |

Caster bolts installed where GM didn't install them but the gates were there, I think they were rear toe bolts if I remember right. Race weight is 3795 with 1/4 tank |
