I accelerated pretty hard to get in front of a semi. After doing so, the car started to idle rough and a number of lights came on on the dash, including the check engine light and the traction control. After a few seconds, most of the lights went off, but then the car started to shift hard from park into drive, and it's like it's jarring the entire car. Any idea what this could be and how much it might cost? I drive a 2012 LS Automatic Camaro. I think it may be a bad solenoid, but I'm not sure how easy it is to get to those to replace. I'm trying to figure out how much this would usually run so I am not screwed over. I know I don't need a new transmission. Can you tell by hooking up a scan tool if it is a faulty solenoid or if it is something else? I also recently had four new tires put on, so could it be something to do with a sensor or something from one of those? Please help before I take it to the shop tomorrow so I'm informed when I go in! Thanks!

Solenoids are simply heavy duty electrical switches. The classic example is in your starter, when the battery is dead and you hear a 'click'. That's the solenoid.
I feel you had a pre-existing condition that was revealed by the heavy acceleration. Also cannot see how this is from tires. To guess at price we'd have to know exactly what was wrong. First step would be a scan.

It could be any number of things from dirty MAF, spark plug crack, loose wire, too....... the lights come on for just about anything.

Why don't you try re-booting it.
Read codes then do fuse pull to re-set everything.

You could also do a fluid change with some zmax for the trans...

You could scan for trouble codes before assuming the worst. And no, solinoids are not replaceable like older cars.
