ZL1 Carbon Fiber Spoiler
So I was on the top 10 list to order the new 2015 CF spoiler for my ZL1. When I received and unpacked I noticed immediately a "flaw" in the weave on the top portion of the spoiler. To my disappointment, as I had to wait several months to finally receive, I contacted Moreno Motorsports "G5 Carbon" and through several emails back and forth with the actual manufacturer, I was informed that I essentially would not be happy with ANY of their products and that all their products will consist of some sort of flaws. My question is for any of the other top 10 members or thereafter that signed up is , how was you spoiler when you received it? Any flaws? Al from Moreno Motorsports said he search heir inventory and could not find a "Clean" pc. For replacement. Suggestions??

I had a cf spoiler from another outfit and had many very noticeable flaws. I then got one from the Morenos which was of a much higher quality then the first. From what I have read cf is extremely hard to get right. I think that is what happened with the cf hood insert. They had so many with visible flaws that they painted those. I have the spoiler, rear diffuser, trunk inserts, side rockers, front splitter, light pods and engine cover all from them and I am very happy with the products. I have not found anyone else who makes a higher quality cf piece for the Gen 5.

Here is the best i have at the moment and what was sent to Moreno Motorsports etc. I wouldn't mind so much with a flaw, though it's right on the top of the spoiler and when all else looks great. I know it looks small in this photo but again with the weave as good as it is and then you have this dark spot that simply breaks up the pattern.

You will not find anything better. I have purchased tons of CF from several vendors, some is on my car, some is in the trash. The stuff from Moreno, or their current supplier, is the best that you are going to find. Is it perfect, no, but take a close look at the paint on your car, that is far from perfect too, and you paid $50K or more for that.

"Been there and done that"!
I am on my second CF spoiler. The second one was much better. The first had an issue of a very small white borderline crack in the finish at the edge. It was explained in detail how these are made and as JMichael posted above , you won't get a "perfect" one. I was at Seibon/Anderson Composites and saw the whole batch of them when they arrived. The problem with the spoilers is that it is a solid one piece sheet that is formed at the edges which gives it that crease that mimics the factory unit. The only thing is the CF they are using only flexes so much when formed. I believe the only solution for a "perfect spoiler, is to contact an F1 team and ask them for a sheet, as their CF molds are state of the art, and use a different tighter weave pattern. Konigsegg is the other source that I remember does their own molding.
