here she is...

Picked up the new ride friday. Here are some pics at the link below. I could not figure out how to post pics yet so this is the best I could do.

I was alittle upset though. My buddy pointed out a small ding on the passenger side. I'm sure the dealer will take care of it, but I am just afarid of the paint matching. I had a bad experience with my vette some years back when I had to have some body work done. Hopefully color matching has improved since then.

DO NOT let your dealer paint anything until you/they rule out PDR (paintless dent repair). Your dealer should be using a qualified PDR technician. If the small ding doesn't have a chip in the paint, painting shouldn't be necessary at all. If they arrange this type of repair for you, try to supervise without being a PITA, but I would try to be there to assure that the guy doesn't drill any holes in your car. That is a big NO NO on a new vehicle. I have personally worked on 5-6 Camaros here in Delaware (I am a PDR tech) and the doors have been extremely easy to work on so far. Also there are ways to fix dings without drilling even though they are hard to get behind, if you have all the right tools. Feel free to ask any questions about the process...BTW where is the ding located?

Apparently my car had some type of work to the passenger door and even though I know about paint (took classes and my father owns a collision shop) I couldn't tell where it was for the life of me.

Where abouts do you live in Macomb, I'm from that area too.

Its in the door right where the body line is. its very small and looks like another door must have hit it during shipping. I know it did not happen at the dealer because it came off the truck and right to me.

Well if the paint didn't sustain any damage (rub it with some cleaner wax if there is any paint transfer from the other car), which sounds unlikely, it should be extremely easy to repair if you find a PDR guy that has any clue what he is doing. If the dealer won't take care of it for you, a dime to quarter sized ding may run anywhere from $65-100. Contact your dealer and see who they would recommend...If they dont have any recommendations go here and find a tech in your area. Look into this though it could save you hundreds of $$$$.
