Mckee's 37 wheel coating application.

Todayt was time for a new wheel coating as mine was a year old and tired.
This was the product that I am using this go round.

http://www.autogeek.net/wheel-coating.html

First was to decon with Sonax

http://www.autogeek.net/sonax-wheel-cleaner-plus.html

Then washed and prepped with Blackfire coating prep.

http://www.autogeek.net/blackfire-paint-prep-spray.html

Clean up was a breeze, as most know ZL1's and other Camaro's dust hardcore.
Sonax removed that easy enough.

Here are some pics.

Pic 1. The dirty wheel, not cleaned in a while. I came home from a couple of hundred mile road trip and parked it.
Pic 2. Sonax doing its thing, metal particles and dust turn red.
Pic 3. Rinse off yea that is from one wheel.

Remaining pics are after. Could have did a little better clean up and polish first.

Dust will now be very easy to remove again, this stuff is slick, and a very easy application.

How many coats of the 37 did you apply to the rubber?

Looks like an easy product to apply.
Just wipe and turns clear.

Sonax is a great wheel cleaner, I hope none of that gunk dried on your driveway!

Let us know how easy the wheels are to clean on future washes.

Wheels look great from what they were initially.

Lol none its a wheel coating not for tires.

Tires just got a quick wipe of Blackfire. Didn't even clean them.

Nope driveway is good that was the initial rinse, sonax is some good stuff.

Prep could have been better IE polishing first, but this thing is a driver and its too freaking hot to do all that work today. Next time.

Application was pretty much wipe on walk away, but it is good to wipe.them down with a micro after it flashes off.

Will update with how they clean up when they are dirty again, but probably not using the car until later in July for a road trip. Winding roads should dust them up good.

Yea Nor Cal I have, I really like the stuff and plan to apply it to all my vehicles tires.
Trick to the stuff is to have the rubber spotlessly clean, cleaner than you can even imagine!
I did it with brand new tires, wheels off the car.
Two thorough scrubbings with Adam's All Purpose Cleaner using a short bristled, stiff bristled brush.
I then scrubbed them with Stoner's Tarminator.
Three coatings gave us a very nice natural look to the tires. We've washed the car twice since the application and the coating still looks like the day I applied it. All it takes to wash the tires now is a swipe across the rubber with the wheel brush and some Car Shampoo and a wipe with the wash pad.
More coats should give a glossier appearance.
Best pic I can find of the tires after coating them:

I believe this was after the first wash since being coated.

Might have to give it a shot when my blackfire runs out. Looks really nice!
