23 mpg smoking a cigar
Moving from South Carolina to Florida and took the 600 mile drive to Pensacola today. The ZL1 got 23 MPG in mostly highway driving. Wow I thought, great for a stock 580 hp car. The most amazing thing was I noticed something in the lower front air dam grill when I arrived. Melted into the plastic was a still smoldering cigar butt - verified by the wife who said it actually had a nice aroma - a compliment as she does not like cigars. Anyway, I couldn't help but imagine how much better mileage the Z could have gotten if it hadn't been smoking one. 😂 True story...next time I need to put my foot in it more so s£!t don't get stuck in the grill!

Can't say I'd be happy about the cigar melting into the plastic, but I like the gas mileage!

Damn, I must have some kind of weird tune. CAI and headers with mild tune and unless I'm doing 65 or less in 6th gear, no way I'll get 20+ mpg.

Wow that's phenomenal mileage. Check out Emerald Coast Camaro's in the regional section. There are occasional meet and greets.

When driving easy with the right foot being light (I know it's very hard), I got 22 MPG on the secondary roads coming back from the Nationals.
I have mode to the tune of 650 at the crank. Nothing major but still amazed at that gas mileage with that kind of power when you need it. |

Yea agreed. I think some A-hole stuck their cigar butt in the grill at a rest area about 25 miles from Pensacola. Happy with the highway mileage, but it won't see those numbers very often.
