Stripes question

I've got a silver ice 2013 camaro SS. My stripes are starting to show some wear so I'm thinking of replacing them. So I have a couple of questions for you guys out there. Have you ever seen another colour stripe on a silver camaro that looks good (maybe gray). What do you think of the matte finish instead of glossy. Lastly, where is a good spot to order the stripes from, and what have you paid to put them on (curve ball on the last question is that I'm in Canada). Thanks for your help and advice.

When I did my stripes, I wanted a different & subtle look, so I narrowed it down to matt black or a CF look, ended up going with the CF. Besides loving the look, I am constantly getting compliments on how great the look. I think a matt gray would look great on silver if you're going for a subtle look as well. Mine came from Big Worm Graphix & if I remember correctly, i paid a little over $100.00.

I think blue would look goon on SIM. Having said that, I have a set of matte black stripes that I am going to install on mine. I checked around for installation quotes and most ranged around $200 (makes sense since it's probably a 4 hour job). I am seriously considering attempting the install myself though. I got my stripes from a guy on this board, but I've heard good reviews for Big Worm Graphix.

It would be better to get the stripes from a graphics place rather than OEM.

With silver, several colors will work just fine. You can put a matte set of stripes on and even if you use a spray on sealant it shouldn't make them glossy (but will offer UV protection to make them last longer).

All I can suggest is to use the highest quality vinyl the shop has. Some vinyls are rated for 8-10 years outside, and some are rated for 3-5 years. I'd also recommend using something like CQUARTZ UK or Opticoat Gloss (Opticoat is easier to apply, lasts about a year) both of these sealants are like adding a thin extra layer of clear coat to the car once they fully cure. Opticoat Gloss cures fully within 7 days and top it with a WIWA sealant like Blackfire, Zaino's ZC-S or Opticoat Sealant.

I have even seen ghosted stripes recently, though I don't think they look very good compared to ghosted paint work.

Since the car is silver (most picked color for cars), I would go with something that stands out a bit. Anthracite Black (sort of metallic), a deep gloss blue or red. I'd also paint your calipers the same color for some color coordination. If you want to be really edgy you can have some reflective pin striping to follow along the edges of the stripes.

I have these American Car Craft, think they would look good and they are $250 and wax-able and holding up well with a very glossy finish. Gradient flame

they continue onto the trunk and I used the extra to do the top part of the spoiler also.

Thanks for all the advice and information guys. Love all the stripes You posted. Still hoping someone from Canada will chime in with a place to order the stripes or a place that will do a good job installing them. Or even a place that delivers to Canada. I'm in Ontario. A couple hours east of Toronto.

There are a butt billion places on the internet to buy them from but if you get them they should be in a tube, cheap internet vendors often box them and then they get crushed yet prices are all over the place on the internet for similar products. And you most likely could look to window tinting auto shop or sign shop for installation if you do not do them yourself. Just search Camaro decals, or auto decals etc, I did my own side rockers and hood spears a couple times etc.....changing looks over time.

This ^^^^ is good advice; mine came in tubes & I found a window tinting place that has also been doing graphics (stripes) for the previous 5 years. They did an excellent job on both my vehicles; it's been almost 3 years and they both still look great
