How low can you get OnStar to go?

I just renewed my OnStar. For just the Protection Plan only they started at $19.99/mth. Then when I refused they went to $14.99. Then again she put me on hold and came back with $12.99 or for the year $149.90 before tax. At that point I took it. Has anyone got them to go lower?

I nearly bit when I haggled them down to 9.99/mo. Decided that I liked my car enough to enjoy the power on my own, reaponsibly.

It's completely free for 3 years now. I did it basically just for the remote app. Locate/monitor car from my phone and lock/unlock

Basic service is for diagnostic reports and app, not emergency services. Aside from that, i have determined that at this point, OnStar has no value added for me. The credit card I have on file with them expired in June, yet they are still able to charge the monthly service to my account.

Oh well, guess it's time to pick up the phone and fire them.

I got it mainly so I could use the onstar app, nice to be able to remote start/lock/unlock.

I've wanted to "press the button" on several occasions, but it will leave a fingerprint mark on my frameless mirror. Hence, still no free OnStar for me.

The three year free basic is worthwhile for the iPhone/Android app. Remote start, unlock etc. Could come in handy.
