Car left untouched for 19 days. Help???

So I went with my girlfriend to Texas and left my car with her mom. When I come back the car starts shaking like crazy but I figured it's nothing really (stupid) then later that day my car starts getting warnings for no stabilitrak and engine power cut off. Now I'm getting worried because sometimes when I start up my car nothing happens, sometimes the engine light comes on and nothing happens and then sometimes the engine says its cut off power and stabilitrak is disabled and I can't go over 20 usually. My gf says I just need to jump it but I'm scared the battery is broken or something because it seems so random when it goes into low power mode. I really trusted my girlfriends mom to at least turn it on or drive it once a week but it's whatever I guess. I even said she could drive it to work if she wanted but I guess that didn't happen. Anyway I'm sorry for the wall of text. Can someone please give me any advice? I'm praying it's just something small because I can't afford anything big right now. Cheers guys.

Dan

Not sure about the 'whacking' issue, but if you're having starting problems, go to your local AutoZone or other parts store & have the battery tested. That's where I'd start anyway.... good luck.

If the car is not having any issues starting I doubt it's the battery. FYI, batteries get discharged not broken.

Anyways, is the check engine light on? Do you have a code reader? Code readers are like 10 bucks on Ebay/Amazon, I suggest you buy one before you spend a bunch of money on a 'diagnostic' from a shop. Or...your local Autozone or Advanced Auto might be able to read the codes for free (if you have codes).

Shaking could also be due to flat spots on the tires. If mine sits it will shake and wobble for a few miles (normally after being parked for a month+

What he said. After 19 days not starting could be a dead cell. Battery strong enough (at times) to start car but not enough volts while running causing REP, Stabilitrak msgs. You'll find other forum posts that have experienced the same problem when batttery was bad.

Ummmm... It's a 14 and under warranty. Take it to the dealer and have it checked over, problem solved.

I don't know, 19 days isn't really a long time, so it shouldn't have any of the 'storage' issues. Battery rundown certainly can happen, but it should be recharged by now. What kind of gas was in it when you parked it? Again 19 days isn't a long time, but if it were cheap 87 octane, perhaps it got stale, especially if it's e10, which most is, it may have absorbed moisture. This could cause some spark knock, detonation. Maybe fill it with 91 with some techron additive? Try consulting your service dept since you're still under bumper to bumper.

So I took it to a shop that I always go to and they have really good prices. They said 80-95 for resetting the codes. Is that good? He said the gas pedal sensors weren't in sync or something. He said it wasn't a warranty issue.

If your car still has full warranty. ...you shouldn't be paying anything. Anything you think may be wrong should be looked at by the dealer until your warranty is up. If the shop plays with something that would be considered a warranty issue by the dealer....they may not honour it. Let the dealer decided what's warranty related and what isn't.
