BBK SHORTYS CARB LEGAL

I know there are few other carb legal Shorty's but I could NEVER find a thread about the BBK being carb legal for us Cali guys! So I talked to a rep at BBK that confirmed they finally got approved about 3 weeks ago and now include the CARB sticker with thier Shorty's

I think the part # is 4020
On eBay for a cool $350

(Please no "why Shorty's get Long tubes" replys I want Shorty's #1 because I'm not ready for a tune yet and I have to pass smog obviously need my cats)

Happy Labor day!

I've had shorty's, they don't really flow anymore than the stock manifolds. Just a different tone.

You may be right but I think Shorty's with a nice intake and tune down the road will give some nice horsepower combined with the exhaust I'm running ... shoot i would damn near just buy them cus the chrome looks cool when you pop the hood. Plus I could lose some weight from the cast iron stock manifolds... hopefully it will sound loud enough im STILL debating on running straight pipe and selling my Flowmasters..

Shorties flow just fine when hooked up to some high flow cats. Until somebody post some facts im not buying the bs of them flowing the same as a stock manifold.

The stock manifolds flow great. Why do you think most turbo guys leave the stock manifolds... I got shorties for free, wouldn't spend 400+ to gain 5 hp when they're are other mods that will net more for the same price but to each their own.

If 5hp is worth $350 plus labor go for it.
If your keeping the cats is a waste of money for performance. It'll look good and sounds about the same. I tested this 6yrs ago.

Besides an intake or just a tune what other mods could make that HP for $400 ?

Rod mod rail intake for $275, could get stickier tires, or do suspension. Just warning you because my friend got them for his gto and literally went to longtubes a week later lol. If you're worried about smog, modifying a car is something you probably shouldn't do.

As a matter of fact I LITTERALY just threw on some Lexani Lx Thirtys and im super satisfied for the price they are sticky when i punch it around a corner I won't slide vs. my eagles would slide around a corner... if I went with a basic 1" drop springs would I have to mess with suspension or anything else?

They claim about 15 im sure if i get an intake with the shortys and a tune It should be at LEAST 10-20hp... note I have a convertible wich is 400 pounds heavier than a hard top so I want all i can get while staying street legal.. at least until i pass smog
