Remote start with iphone?
My 2010 has the factory remote start but it has a limited range. I'd like to be able to use my phone to start it so it'd have a little more time for the HVAC to do it's thing. Anyone aware of an app or what it would take to integrate my phone into the existing remote start?

I'm not aware of any phone app like that but if there was we would have a new expression:
Oops, I think I just butt started my Camaro |

Onstar remote link app. You can get Onstar basic for free for 3 years if you have never purchased a package before. Just hit that button on your mirror.

I'm not sure about anywhere in the US but it Canada certain vehicles need a hardware update to use onstar. The cell service it's using is being discontinued by the carrier.
Though it might be worth it. Your neighbors know your on vacation halfway across the country, but you can still annoy them by using the app to honk the horn and flash the lights. Or make them think it's possessed and come home to find a priest washing it with holy water. |

I had OnStar active in my 2010, and it wasn't compatible with the app. On the other hand, I use Directed SmartStart on my truck and have had it for almost 5 years. Works well, used to require an aftermarket remote starter, but some of the newer modules out there (especially from iDataLink) don't necessarily require a whole remote starter, as they can be wired to control the factory system. Hope this helps
