L99 Torque Management System

Does anyone know if this can be tuned? I dont know much about and doing my research, but what i think this is the computer controlling the torque. Am i on the right track or just completely out in left field?

Reason im asking is because im buying an L99 and was wondering about putting a new aftermarket torque converter on it or if it can just be tuned.

Again i dont know much about what im talking about so im looking to you all for help.

Thanks

Definitely,

In fact the custom tune I received from HPE achieves the more torque gain than HP gain. The car is awakened and when you run in the sport or competitive mode, the shifting through all of the gears is extended and with smooth but harder/quicker shifts. You can even have the AFM turned off if you don't want the drone at the exhaust associated with the engine going from 8 to 4 cylinders and vice versa.

A must do mod for the L99's !!

Great advise thanks!!

Who is HPE and what was the cost and time of that tune if you dont mind me asking?

Also what do you have to do in order to turn off the AFM? (can you do it with buying a programmer or do you have to take it to the dealership)

There are plenty of skilled tuners around the country that could help you out. You need to contact some Camaro owners in your area and find out who they use. That shouldn't take long in this forum.

Your tuner will use computer software like HP tuners to adjust your tuning. Your tuner can turn off the AFM and adjust air/fuel ratios, torque managment, etc. A good custom tune should be good for several tenths in the 1/4 mile.

The cost can vary. It all depends on the type of tune you get. If you get a street tune (no dyno tuning) it will be cheeper. If you want your car tuned on a dyno, it will be more expensive. A full dyno tune ususally cost around $450.00

My tuner (www.fasterproms.net) tuned my car on the dyno and then we went out and drove around on the street to finish the tuning (fine tune the shifts, etc). The tune made a big difference.

Yeah I will look into so see if a tuner can leave AFM and TM normal in D but when in M/S that TM is backed off and AFM off all together. That in my mind is what GM should of done.

Unfortunately TM is all or nothing. By this I mean on in all modes or off.

Just the dyno numbers after. She had 363 RWHP and 379 max torque.

Tanner,

Any other modes to the car? If that is a stock car doing that with a tune that is great. You should beat LS3's with that tune easily if you are not spinning the rears all the time.

Wacker... from earlier threads I thought we could tune out TM in M mode and leave it pretty close to sock in D. I know the overall tune will affect all but thought you could Tune TM in M only

Did something new come up that I missed??.. or did you get TM mixed up with AFM
