Well get ready gang, insurance is going up.

Well State Farm raised my insurance 40.00 every six months. Here is the explanation.

"The claim experience on your make and model of vehicle has resulted in an increase to your vehicle rating group for comprehensive and /or collison."

I had State Farm for about 15 years until I moved to another state and they wanted to raise my rate $90/month.

I've never been back and most likely never will.

I was quoted $69 and change in January...When I finally got the Camaro in May the rate was, get this $90. then 2 months later $110, then $130

STATE FARM

I switched from Progressive to State Farm because of the great rates...and what I feared would occur did. Bait and switch.

Anyhow, I cancelled them and went with AAA. Camaro $359 6 months, 03 Cavalier $202 every 6 months. Saved $1000 a year changing. To get the best rates you MUST have a second car AND classify the Camaro as pleasure under 7500 miles a year. If you really do not drive the car but 3000 miles a year, and you do not classify Camaro as such, you could unnecessarily be paying alot more for nothing. There is a huge rate difference between 7500 mile and 3000 mile, so insure accordingly. Difference was $38 a month between pleasure under 7500 mile and pleasure 3000 mile..

And don't forget to drop the collision in winter if you are not driving it. PenFed says no problem and so do most lending institutions.

I used to be with Nationwide, then they became too expensive, then I switched to State Farm, were low at first, then they were upping rates every term as well, so then I got a company who a friend works for who underwrites for Allstate with high coverage and low deductibles for my SS and my Volvo for $75 a month! I've had him for a few years, and was only paying $38 a month prior

Everyone in Florida pays for above average rates..... Guess someone has to pay for all those hurricanes we don't get ......

Another thing that pisses me off about insurance, is the way States guarantee them a profit.... That's just wrong !!!! If it's a gamble for me to have insurance, it should be a gamble for them as well .....

I just switched to State Farm and my insurance only went up $15 a month to $137. I had an 08 Silverado. Now I did have to include renters insurance that lowered my payments from $160 to $137 and I only pay $6 bucks in renters insurance. Just an idea to keep payments low, they do give a nice discount for multi plans
