Coilover vs Springs?
I am sure this has had discussed a bit so please be patient with me
![]() I have a 2012 ss thats now a ZL1, and I am looking for a lowered look. I don't race it, but I want to be able to if I ever did. DOn't need anything amazing or expensive, but curious what the benefit is doing Coilovers over springs. And if I go coilovers, what make the 800.00 vs 3000..... I would be closer to 800.00 Thanks in advance! |

Is ride quality more important than handling?
Are looks more important than ride quality? |

For Ride Quality, nothing can match the RideTech coilover setup. Nothing else comes close. The RT setup is also very good handling, but if we are talking optimal handling we are into the Triple adjustable RT with Ron Sutton Valving or DSE / JRO coilovers and well above $3K.
Lowering coils will get the look, but they will be a compromise in ride quality. Lowering springs are a fraction of the cost or coilovers making them a 'value' purchase many choose. |

So for a 1000 budget, what would recommend? I think Ride Techs are 2k or so correct? |

Dse seems to sell front components separately from rear which can get quite expensive
