IF your dealer tells you 3 to 9 months, find yourself another dealer. Find one that has allocations, shop around.......if you are going to order one, 8 weeks is the norm IF the dealer has an allocation.

dealers are only allowed to order a certain number of camaros each month and some dealers simply don't get any allocations. Not sure what the formula is GM uses to decide what dealers get to order, probably based in part on previous volume. So if a dealer only gets 3 allocations per month but has 20 people in line waiting to order this is how it can take 9 months before your order would get picked up.

So make sure you ask the dealer if they have an open allocation, and how many are ahead of you and make sure your deposit is refundable. The salesman may not know what they are talking about so talk to whoever handles orders at their dealer. They should be able to get you an order number which looks like "NNKT4D" and if they can't or it doesn't move off status 1100 then they are yanking your chain about them having an allocation. Shop around, even if you have to drive a long ways to order.

also your deposit should only be $500 or 1K max, more than that and the dealer is probably shady look elsewhere. Ask on this forum for reputable dealers, there are some great ones in texas that post on this forum and you can order for MSRP.

I have no info on that particular dealer, sorry. I just want to reinforce what's been said. Each month, every dealer has what's known as a CONSENSUS with Chevrolet for the next upcoming month. For example, Chevy and in your case Stevens agree next week that the consensus number for November will be 8. Each week in November, a portion of those 8 are ALLOCATED to be able to be "tagged" and ordered. Week one, Chevy could give them 6 to order or they could give them zero. It doesn't have to be even week to week.

Now, keep in mind that at ANY time, the dealer can enter your order in WORKBENCH and give you a confirmation number (six digit alpha-numeric like NRTF43). Having that number means jack shit- don't let anyone tell you otherwise. At that point, you are at event code 1100 and you will remain there until the dealer has available allocation and can tag your order to be submitted for production. When that allocation is available and your order is tagged and submitted, you move to event code 2000 and now you're actually on your way to somewhere. That is the beginning of your 6-8 weeks, not the 1100 level.

Long story short-> find out the dealer's current consensus number for the upcoming month and find out where you are "in line" at the dealership. The $1000 deposit isn't unreasonable (but is about the max I would ever consider) if you find out your wait will be relatively short. My dealer could order you a car within 2 weeks (2000 event code level) at $500 over invoice as a Camaro5 member but Buffalo isn't exactly next door to Texas.. In any case, feel free to PM me if you have any other questions about how the process works or if you're not 100% sure you understand what I've written.

I believe I'd look for another dealer. Ordered mine in Jan, built Jun 6th and delieved Jun 26th. I think my dealer did me good. MSRP to boot. They pushed my order from the time it was accepted.

Did your dealer give you the work bench number, if not call back and get it....so you can track the process.

Our dealer quoted us 6-8 weeks last month when we ordered, and so far we are on schedule.

i've asked around, and they've all told me 6 to 8 weeks. so it shouldn't take much longer than that.
