The plane you asked about is a SR-71 Blackbird....

The one above (Calamity Jane) is a B52D Strato-fortress used primarily in Viet Nam War...

Nice story, nice photos....

Nice photos

Seen a B52 fly a few times amazing plane

If you are into military planes you should check out Wright Patterson AFB. Can't get cool photos but it's neat to see all of the planes

Great write up and awesome pictures! The battleship and B-52 were most impressive and the SR-71 was as well.

I saw an SR-71 at the NASA museum in Huntsville AL. In there, they also have a Saturn V which is a huge rocket plus a lot of memorabilia that is NASA related such as from the Apollo missions, etc.

And as someone else posted, if you are ever in Ohio and you are a plane fan, it is worth the trip to the Air Force Museum east of Dayton near Wright Patterson AFB. Incredible collection of planes there both indoors and out.

Thanks!

Should have visited the Naval Air Museum on the NAS Base in Pensacola.
