will Service install my CAGs eliminator with Oil Change?

About 800 miles on my new 2SS vert, and I really hate the CAGS intervention. I just got the CAGs eliminator from Amazon, and scheduled my first oil change for Monday at Weseloh in Carlsbad.

Do you guys think the tech will do me a solid and pop in the eliminator while its on the lift? I don't have ramps or a good floor jack yet, but the skip-shift is driving me nutz.

Ian, if you see this, is there a tech I can ask for? Should I slip him a $20 or something?

Thanx for any input,

Joel

Most dealers are owned by corporate entities now, there are no more mom/ pop type operations and most of the big chains forbid their shops for doing anything except GM approved and sold accessories… But certainly you can ask..... The lawyers run everything now.

Yeah, was thinking it might be a "policy" issue, but I don't have ramps (yet) or jackstands and pucks, but boy do I hate that shift-skip. . .

maybe consider shifting at a little higher rpm where the skip shift parameters are exceeded.... +-2500rpm and above.
return the part and get a refund from amazon.

Hey thanks, very cool of you to offer. I have a buddy thats a mechanic down the street, I'm going to hit him up first, but I definitely appreciate the offer. Surprised the part came with zero instructions, but I guess they figure if you know enough to buy it, you should know how to install it. I've seen a few threads in the forum, but until I actually get under the car, I guess I won't really know if my hand will fit, and whether I can find the right stuff. . . .

Happy Friday, btw, great time for a drive in San Diego

Hey I just saw this. I don't think they're allowed to honestly. But like Obzen said if you need a jack or help doing it I'm down in San Marcos.

Haha, thanx Ian, I'm heading in there at 10 am tomorrow, I'll try to ask. Maybe if they look the other way, I'll just sneak under the lift and do it myself:-) My mechanic buddy had too many beers watching the Boltz, so won't be doing it with him today. . .

SA's are nice, but won't budge on the install. They did let me check out my car on the lift, I honestly didn't even see where the plugs are located. May need to rely on my forum brethren after all. . .

Anyone in SD care to help a brother out with the CAGS install? I have the vert, so not really sure how to use a jack and pinch welds, since there is only one available on the verts, so if I jack, how do I put the stand under it? Also wasn't exactly clear where the module to be removed is located.

Will bribe with cold beers or cash :-)

Thanx
Joel
