Rear 18 DR setup

I have a price for 18 replicas and have been searching on the size and vendor for the drag radials.

So far I have narrowed the vendors to
Hoosier
M/T
M/H

In that order. Any specifics I am missing or raves about a particular tire and size?

I used to have great luck on M/H on a BBC Camaro, but that's a totally different car.

Thanks in advance

I think all tires are different diameters as wel. M&H and MT Street 2- 28". MT ET street R-29" Hoosier-30"

So that'll play a factor, I have ET street R on my 18 replicas and they hook great at the track

i was going to use these primarily at the track, with some possible street time. I am keeping my stock rears for longer and frequent trips.

found these newer sized mh 345-35R18
http://www.mandhtires.com/M-H-Drag-Radials/345-35R18

Looks 28 inch so no fault lights, and saw one ss camaro post that said they fit, although the 30 inch hoosiers at nearly 100$ cheaper dont look bad either

That's a small sidewall. My ET street R are 29" and have a 45 sidewall they are only 305 wide though.

Good point forgot about the sidewall size, and that's key on these. The 30 inch hoosiers are looking better.

The sidewall you mention is called aspect ratio. you can't compare "35" to "45" without the first set of numbers which is the tire width.

35 means 35% of the tire width. .35x345 = 120.75 mm
45 in the MT ET Street is .45x305=137.25 mm

so the 45 definitely has a taller sidewall but just don't go by that number alone.= because you gotta also consider the 305 width versus the 345 width.

Auto trannies don't launch with as much shock as a manual so tire choice is easier (or less important).
