Question Is there such a thing?...

as a removable roof/luggage rack for the Camaro? Does it exist for any car?

I'm thinking ahead to next spring when I plan on selling my 'spare' car that I'll be using this winter...and I'm trying to think of ways to make the Camaro my 'everything' car. Right now, if I want to go bike riding, kayaking, or haul a lot of stuff, I always use the Grand Prix.

I don't want to make any permanent modifications to the Camaro...and I don't want to ruin its looks by having a roof rack on all the time, but if there were a way to just attach one when I need it, that would be awesome...I could put on a bike rack, kayak, or luggage carrier whenever I needed it.

My guess is there isn't a market for such a thing, but thought I'd ask in case someone knew otherwise! Probably easier in the end to keep the Grand Prix or buy a beater truck for these things. I'd hate to keep $9K in equity tied up in a car I only occasionally use, though.

Yikes! That would be an eye sore.

Keep the Camaro's payload in mind. I believe it's only around 750lbs, passengers included. And who knows how much weight could sit on top before you do some damage.

yes there is, not specific for the camaro, they are more universal, but yes there is. A lot of surf boarders around here have them. the have soft mounts (like sucsion cup looking things on the bottom) and then straps to the edge of the door openings.

That might be a problem with the frameless windows on the Camaro.
