ABS light trouble...

So ive had the abs light on for a few weeks now. Ive read through every post about Abs issues and have not found a solution to get rid of these damn lights lol. I scanned the code and it said it was the rr speed sensor. After replacing all four sensors (since they were only about 11 bucks) the light persists. After scanning the code again it says RR Wheel speed sensor circuit. C0050 i believe Anyone have any advice and where I should go from here? My car works fine other than the abs coming on and shutting off my traction control and all that. The light did come on after a few hundred miles of driving on my wider tires. 275/40 and 305/35 which should fit fine. Any insight is appreciated! thanks

Make sure you clear all the codes and disconnect the battery to completely reset. That might work but if not I am almost 100% certain this is related to the tire size. The ABS and traction sensors measure rotational speed and differences between the rotational speed of all 4 wheels. If the rotation speed is off on any one or more wheels it thinks the wheel is slipping. If the tire circumference is off just slightly it can trigger, going to a wider tire with a different height profile will change the wheels RPM ever so slightly. The computer can sync some changes but if the profile from front to rear is off too much it can trigger this type of problem. I have dealt with similar issues in my AMG as well as a Jeep SRT8.

Assuming the actual ABS system is fine, is that something can be be corrected via tune?

Unfortunately I am new to this platform so I don't know the answer. I see that a lot of guys are running all different sizes of wider and taller or shorter tires on 18in-22in wheels so I would assume there has to be a fix. Again, I was just taking a stab at it because I had similar problems with other vehicles. Good luck, hope you get it sorted out.

You've got a bad wire or connection somewhere from the right rear wheel speed sensor to the EBCM (Electronic brake control module). Clearing the dtc, whether it's a scan tool or disconnecting the battery will not make the light go out. The EBCM checks the circuit every time the vehicle is started and it will turn back on. Did you happen to get the symptom byte with the dtc? It's a two digit number that further identifies the concern.

thanks for the reply. I was assuming its a bad wiring connection somewhere. I dont remember reading what the system byte number was. Ill have to rescan it again when i get a chance. Im assuming it would be easier to fix the issue to take it in somewhere rather than try to repair it myself?

Not necessarily, A wheel speed sensor can be as simple as removing a wheel to access. A damaged wire can be easily repaired. When you get the dtc and symptom lmk.

I'd check the tone ring as well
