Alright I have the 2ss (2010) with the Boston Acoustics. Just recently I have ran into an intermittent problem. Occasionally my volume will stop working, to include all door chimes and turn signals. On the display the volume will get stuck on whatever it previously was. You spin the dial and no up or down in numbers. Every other function still works, you can change stations, change settings, change anything else but the volume is the only thing that freezes. I have checked fuses, I ordered a new amp and just put that in but it did not fix the problem. That leads me to believe it is either the radio unit itself, the display unit, or a wire in the harness between them. Does anyone have an idea of what could be causing this? It is not related to temperature as I garage store my car. I have added my own amp and sub and spliced into the wires pre stock amp and that even loses all sound. So my thought process is, if thats losing sound it cannot be the stock amp but I replaced it to ensure that wasnt the problem. Also its never one or the other as in, my sub never works while the BA fails or vice versa. It is either no sound at all or it works perfectly fine. I have tried playing with the wires between the BA amp and the head unit and the wires connecting the display and the radio unit and I can never get the issue to occur on command if that makes sense. Please help.

The fact that the volume display freezes tells me it is something with the headunit. If your radio has some sort of factory reset, I would try that first. The software may be glitchy. Beyond that, pay attention to when this problem happens and look for patterns. I'd pay attention to things like turn signals, door locks, and any of the "car things" that the headunit controls. If there was an issue on the data line, that could make your radio screwy I suppose. None of your audio wiring (amp, speakers) is going to cause the display to freeze, so you can eliminate all of that stuff.
