question best bulb for drl's or now so called fog lamps

I just purchased a drl harness from gen5. now I'm looking for a "quality" drl bulb that has the brightest bulb. I want the bulb to work like a fog lamps. I have never thought the factory headlamps were bright enough at night. so for better lighting at night I want the fogs lamps to provide that. I have the rs package. What is the safest, best quality and bulb that matches the halo headlamp color of light too. Also what is best leds, plasma, hid. thanks guys

The DRL housing will never work like a fog light. All you will do is blind the on coming drivers with a bright DRL bulb.

I've bought these to replace my DRL's with, just waiting for it to warm up to do the install.

And these adapters to install without splicing wires.

I went with these and like them. I will say the reviews were much higher when I ordered though (Oct. 2015). Compared to the RS headlights, they are slightly bluer while the headlights have more of a purple tone to them.

I think you need about a 5K to 6K brightness otherwise it will be much brighter than the halos. Also, go with "plasma". The bulbs with the little square panels are not as good, I had a set of the square panel ones and the panels fell off in the housing. I have been running the 6K plasmas now for about 3 years with no issues. Gen5 has a similar bulb, you can probably find them cheaper if you search.

I looked at your link and these look close to what I'm looking for. I see oracle has some nice looking ones too. I might have to rethink this whole thing with the fog lamps might be too bright for drl's. Good point!
