In search of CLUTCH ?
I find myself in the market for a new clutch. I've read & read but haven't yet decided. I have to have a clutch that will hold what's going through it.
LSA with 2.5 pulley, cam, exhaust, etc. Suffice to say there's a fair bit of hp/torque going down the drive line. I'm looking at Spec & Monster clutch twins. Im leaning toward the spec in either the P trim, or the SS trim. Either one should on paper anyway do the job. However my concern is drivability. Shuttering, chatter or any crappy things I won't like. Anyone have some insight, or experience ?

I'm currently eyeballing the Monster 700/700 twin package for my N/A 1LE.
I'm debating the organic 1000 triple though it's $500 more if memory serves. It seems to be smoother too. I wanted to call them in the morning. Either way I'm in for the discussion here... Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

Add Centerforce DYAD to the discussion. I've had one for 2 years of racing and it is like new. Just swapped out for a 4L80e, so my clutch and TR6060 are taking up room in my garage next to my stock LS3.
BTW, I'm over 650 rwhp. |

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a Mcleod 6405507 twin disc. Flywheel and all. I would suggest doing the flywheel along with whatever you choose.

I have talked to a friend about McLeod I was told I would not be happy with the RST Twin but the RXT would probably handle the job.
I would still consider that but my main concern is the actual drivablity , "chatter, take off rpm and such" . I know there's a bunch of guys on here putting 600 to 650 rwhp down. I know they've done the clutch. I know there is tradeoffs to be made , but dumping the clutch at a stoplight is unacceptable.

I have 600 + RWHP and still have the stock clutch. Its my daily driver and I baby it. I am in the market for a new one and was wondering the trade offs in getting a lighter fly wheel to increase HP on a DD. Need a dual no matter what I would think.

We use the McLeod RXT twin disk clutches in most builds. Haven't had any complaints. They drive well and handle power.
