GM Chrome/Nickel Fuel Filler Door ??

I ordered the nickel fuel filler door and when I went to pick it up yesterday, I was very disappointed in it. I don't know if my expectations were too high, or I'm not used to dealing with nickel, but it didn't seem to be able to be clean. Every time it was touched there were these hideous black finger prints on it, and if you tried to wipe it out, it just smudged around the black mess.

So I guess my question is, has anyone added the chrome/nickel fuel filler door and are you having the same problems? My other question is what solution does anyone recommend?

I'd really like a chrome or polished aluminum fuel filler door on the car, but I'm concerned about using after market products and drilling holes in the car.

Thanks,

Gregg

that thing picks up prints from anything that touches it, wipe it with a slightly damp microfiber, it works best

The defenderworx billet chrome or black chrome fuel doors do not require drilling - see their site - http://www.defenderworx.com and in their photo gallery they have the instructions posted. I have the door in brushed chrome and am pleased with it - the outer surface is high-quality and doesn't show any fingerprints. Granted more expensive but worth the quality.

These are available at both Chevy Mall and Camaro Collection - current Discount Offers:
