Great DA and could not get any traction at all

I am running Nitto nt555r drag radials, and this is my third week of drag racing ever. This is the first time I could not get no traction at all. I was at the point i couldn't even go fast because i was spinning so bad. This did not happen to my first two weeks, i had no problems at all. Everyone else was running .4 better than they normally run and i could not get one pass off cleanly. The only difference between today and the other weeks was it was 48 degrees out and it was 75 degrees the other days. Any advice will be appreciated, Thanks. I was heating tires up pretty good.

They suck in the first place. Any radial gets worse in colder weather.

As I tell everyone else. Get a drag pack. If you honestly care about the strip anyway

I couldnt get one run clean enough to make it down track before i was either about to cross center lane or hit the wall. I was so pissed today.

I am running ET Street SS 305, 18, 40 and they hook, very stable down the stretch.

Are you trailering or driving to the track? If your trailering I'd consider running a slick, driving of course a drag radial. Most guys don't have much luck with the 555r's. I would go the with Hoosiers for slicks or M/T for Dr's.

I drive, but i keep my radials in the backseat for thr ride there. As im nee to this, with slicks being so sticky, would i have to upgrade anything to run them?

No upgrades are needed unless you put a shit load more hp then you have. I ran them and will continue with my SC setup I have now. The sidewall takes a load off the drive train as it will wrinkle as you apply the power, the drag radial with its hard sidewall will shock the drive train harder then a slick.

Throw those Nittos in the garbage........

Grab you some Mickeys. I have run a bunch of different drags radials and I love the MT ET Street R. They have been the most consistent tire for me. Consistent low 1.4s 60fts in my all motor 5th Gen all day long, no matter which of the three tracks I go to around here.

Nittos are pretty bad but you should have had SOME traction. More seat time?

You should be hooking somewhat. What were your 60fts? Launch RPM?
