It unscrews and you can put your stock cap on it.

I just slide a couple finger nails under one side and gave a gentle pull. Did the other side it popped right off. It's pretty simple.
I try to avoid screwdrivers and plastic.....we never get along.

I can’t find the thread on here, but there’s a guy that removed the tabs that are holding the emblem on so he could wrap it, then replace the emblem. I think he melted the back of them, but it looks like you might be able to drill them to get it free.
