How To: Steering Wheel Name Plate Swap 2016/2017/2018 Camaro SS, LT, ZL1, 1LE

Want to get a ZL1 wheel or a 1LE wheel but keep your SS emblem? Here is a guide that shows you how to do it.

As I said on YouTube Matt, thanks. This was a concern of mine too. Awesome video.

What are we going to do about the "ZL1" on the auto shift knob?:

It unscrews and you can put your stock cap on it.

I just slide a couple finger nails under one side and gave a gentle pull. Did the other side it popped right off. It's pretty simple.
I try to avoid screwdrivers and plastic.....we never get along.

Hey Matt,
I have a question about the Name plate replacement. I want to change my stock black plate to a carbon fiber one( From China) but want to keep the center SS badge. Does that come off the center?
The carbon fiber one does not have the SS badge so ill have to reuse mine or order a replacement, any ideas?

I can’t find the thread on here, but there’s a guy that removed the tabs that are holding the emblem on so he could wrap it, then replace the emblem. I think he melted the back of them, but it looks like you might be able to drill them to get it free.

Here’s the back of it, you can see how it’s attached.
