Another Issue. Tire Monitor System!!!

So after the bluetooth music streaming issue, and window getting stuck than rolling itself back up after 10 minutes, yet another issue! My 'Tire Monitor System' service sign is showing. I kept getting tire pressure low messages in different tires for the past few days and finally decided to address the issue. The only reason I prolonged the refill of air is because the issue kept self resolving and the pressure would jump up and down all four tires. So while filling up air the system was detecting just fine. I filled all tires up to about 40psi so I could take air out on all of them slowly to be at accurately 36psi. After I finished filling I relearned the pressure, it just stayed at the learning screen. After about 10 minutes I got fed up and turned off my car. I started to drive home hoping it would relearn itself. I really didn't want to drive on so much pressure but I didn't want to let air out and find out I let too much out. I got home and relearned it and it showed me the error message 'Service Tire Monitor System'. Good thing all this happened before I could take it to the dealer for the other issues.

When you put air in your tires, it adjusts...

yeah if you read the manual, you don't just press relearn the system and it does it automatically, you have to press relearn wait til it honks, let the air out of the tire in a specific order until it honks again. or something to that effect.

So either read the manual and calibrate it yourself, or stop by the dealership and they will do it for you.

Correct. Once it honks, you let out the air in each tire in the following order:

Front left, front right, back right, back left. The horn will honk each time letting you know to go to the next tire. Roughly 10 seconds per tire, just wait for each honk.

I wanted to send a quick note thanking you for the information regarding correcting the issues with the service tire monitoring system. I had the same issue and just recalibrated all my tires and the pressure reset on all 4 tires and the warning messages disappeared and everything is working great now. The correct PSI is showing in the DIC. It worked exactly as you said it would.

Thanks again!

I did this last night and it worked great! I didn't go in any particular order, but the horn blowing about scares the crap out of ya! These cars are scary smart!
