CTS-V Upgrade

I'm thinking of getting the CTS-V upgrade this year and I've got some questions.

1. How easy are the 6-piston pads to change out?

2. What pad set up is good for Auto-X?

3. What pad set up is good for Track?

Thanks

The CTS-V setup is the same as the ZL1's and

1. Front pads are pulled out from the top of caliper after the 2 pins, center bolt, and spring is removed, easy just like the SS rear Brembo.

2. OEM

3. OEM

Thanks for the feedback. Good to know.

So the OEM pads hold up to track heat? But then again, I suppose that the 6-piston setup will generate way heat than the SS Brembos.

For Autocross OEM pads would work great. For road course track work I would highly recommend getting a set of track pads like Hawk DRC70's, Raybestos ST-47, or I know there are Carbotech's that a lot of people like too.

I did a track weekend with 6-piston fronts and OEM pads at Road America last year and although I never had any major braking issues ( as in no brakes left ) I did experience the beginning of pad fade and they also started "smearing" on the rotor which started producing pedal vibrations when braking. This was on a cool weekend (40-50's for high temps) and I have the Z/28 brake ducts installed as well. I then tried Hawk DTC70's for my next track event and was very impressed by the additional braking bite with the track pads and I did not experience pad fade with them. Also braking stayed smooth and had no vibrations afterwards.

So I would highly recommend a set of track pads for big track stuff and for Autocross the OEM pads will work great.
