Smile Fixed A Camaro Dent Today

I do regular work at the Port of Wilmington in Delaware and had to fix a dent in a Camaro today before it ships overseas...Model was a 1LT/RS RJT.

Dent is circled in pics...

Good as new...

Nice job! I had a dent on my Camaro that bugged the crap outta me. I never used a PDR person before but I gave him a shot. He's been doing it for 10+ years. He told me he went to 3 seminars and cost him a ton of money to get fully certified, etc. He was featured in Hot Rod magazine years ago. Took him 15 minutes, dent was gone, like it was never there! I would not have believed it if I didn't see it with my own eyes! Amazing! Dents don't scare me anymore. Ding Masters is on my speed dial!

Question: Is PDR done completely from the outside of the car? Is there no need to take panels off from the inside and attempt to pop it out? I'm curious as to how this works - I have a few dings on my current car that I'd like to attempt to remove myself.

No, the dents are typically fixed from behind, but it is rare that a trim panel needs to be removed. In this pic here you can see the blue handled tool inserted into the door between the window and door skin...I use a window guard to avoid scratching the glass while making the repair. I don't normally recommend an owner trying to fix their own body damage, it is very easy to cause additional damage in an instant and the damage caused is usually irreversible...For usually 1/3 to 1/2 the $$ of a conventional body repair, I'd say just hire someone with experience...

Had a chance to doctor up some door dings on a '69 yesterday. The goal was to improve damage to the door skins to reduce bodyfiller. Cool car though, wish I had thought to take pics of the interior, it was cool to see the guage pack in the center console and other styling cues that provided some of the current inspiration...Maybe when I'm back up that way I'll take some more, the car will be at this body shop for a while.
